A musical movie titled 'Christmas on the Square' is coming to Netflix right in time for that special season. Dolly Parton has written 14 original songs for the feature.
Not only that but Dolly Parton is starring in the movie too. She'll be playing - because of course she is - a guardian angel.
Christine Baranski, known for her roles in 'Mamma Mia!' and 'The Good Fight', headlines the movie.
She plays a "rich and nasty woman who returns to her small hometown after her father’s death to evict everyone and sell the land to a mall developer — right before Christmas."
In the town, she meets the locals and hears their stories as well as meeting an old love, which softens her heart.
Moreover a guardian angel is there to offer her some guidance.
So it's totally not anything like 'It's a Wonderful Life' or 'A Christmas Carol', not that we're being a Grinch about it.
The cast also includes Jenifer Lewis ('Black-ish') , Treat Williams, Josh Segarra ('Arrow'), Jeanine Mason ('Roswell', 'New Mexico'), Mary Lane Haskell ('Hearstrings'), Matthew Johnson ('American Idol') and Selah Kimbro ('Hidden Figures').
Dolly Parton previously collaborated with Netflix on the series 'Heartstrings'.
She is releasing a Christmas album, 'A Holly Dolly Christmas', which you can hear the song "Christmas on the Square" from below.
'Dolly Parton's Christmas on the Square' arrives on Netflix on 22 November.
