Although 'Tiger King' feels like it was out at least five years ago, it was only released in March - that's right, March - of this year.
Between that time and now, Carole Baskin has been on 'Dancing With The Stars', Joe Exotic is now going to be played by Nicolas Cage, the GW Zoo has been shut down, and now, Doc Antle is up on animal trafficking charges.
It's been reported by Variety that Bhagavan 'Doc' Antle has been indicted and charged with one felony count of wildlife trafficking, one felony count of conspiracy to wildlife traffic and 13 additional misdemeanor charges by the animal law unit (it's a thing, apparently) of the Virigina Attorney General's office.
Antle is alleged to have helped traffic lion cubs from between the state of Virgina and his safari park in Myrtle Beach, Florida. Per a statement by the Virgina Attorney General's office, the indictment and charges were landed after a months-long investigation in Antle, his daughters, and Keith A. Wilson, the owner of Wilson’s Wild Animal Park in that state.
Given the myriad of legal troubles for those involved in 'Tiger King', Antle's case is pretty serious but further down the line than others. Joe Exotic is currently serving 22 years in federal prison for a murder-for-hire plot against Carole Baskin, who herself has faced repeated questions over the disappeareance of her second husband, Don Lewis.
