'Breaking Boundaries: The Science of Our Planet' is set to be a new feature film for Netflix, narrated by David Attenborough.
The new David Attenborough documentary for Netflix 'Breaking Boundaries: The Science of Our Planet' will launch on the streaming platform this summer.
The feature film will be produced by Silverback Films, who previously created Netflix's 'Our Planet', 'David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet', and a number of Disneynature documentaries.
According to Netflix, 'Breaking Boundaries' will follow the scientific journey of world-renowned scientist Professor Johan Rockström. It will tell the story of the most important scientific discovery of our time - that humanity has pushed Earth beyond the boundaries that have kept Earth stable for 10,000 years, since the dawn of civilisation.
The internationally-renowned scientist said in a blog post for Netflix that: "Humanity is careening close to the edge. Our impact on nature is bringing us dangerously close to planetary boundaries.
"But we can raise the drama up a notch. Our children are sitting in the backseat. They are shouting 'turn on the headlights.' 'Listen to the science.' 'This is our future.' Our generation may be the last with the ability to keep our planet within the boundaries we need to thrive and prosper."
Now, more than ever, the impact humanity is placing on the world has been a serious topic of discussion. And one such man who has been a major driving force in getting people to wake up to this reality is David Attenborough. 'Breaking Boundaries' will be the 94-year-old's latest documentary, following hot on the heels of his Apple TV+ doc from earlier this week 'The Year Earth Changed'.
Rockström says that the key message from 'Breaking Boundaries' is that "we still have time". The next David Attenborough documentary will launch on Netflix this summer.
