The trailer for 'Bruised' has arrived and it's giving us 'Rocky' slash 'Creed' slash 'Million Dollar Baby' vibes.
'Bruised' not only stars Halle Berry in the lead role. It is also the actress's directorial debut.
The movie sees her play a gritty MMA fighter facing the odds in life and on the mat. Berry last starred in 'John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum.'
The official plot synopsis reads: "Jackie Justice (Halle Berry) is a mixed martial arts fighter who leaves the sport in disgrace.
"Down on her luck and simmering with rage and regret years after the fight, she’s coaxed into a brutal underground fight by her manager and boyfriend Desi (Adan Canto) and grabs the attention of a fight league promoter (Shamier Anderson) who promises Jackie a life back in the octagon.
"But the road to redemption becomes unexpectedly personal when Manny (Danny Boyd, Jr.) — the son she gave up as an infant — shows up at her doorstep."
Adriane Lenox, Sheila Atim, Valentina Shevchenko and Stephen McKinley Henderson also star.
'Bruised' is coming to Netflix on November 24th and it will get a limited release in US theatres as well.
