The romantic period drama is based on the book series by Julia Quinn.
Per the official synopsis, 'Bridgerton' follows Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the powerful Bridgerton family. She is making her debut onto Regency London’s competitive marriage market. Hoping to find a match sparked by true love, Daphne’s prospects seem to be unrivaled.
But her older brother begins to rule out her potential suitors. Moreover the high society scandal sheet written by the mysterious Lady Whistledown (voiced by Julie Andrews) casts aspersions on Daphne. Enter the highly desirable and rebellious bachelor Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page).
Despite proclaiming they have nothing in common, their attraction is undeniable. Sparks fly as the couple find themselves engaged in a battle of wits while rebelling against society’s expectations.
