Executive producer of the series, Robert Rodriguez, has said that the upcoming production will "over-deliver" on fan expectation.
'The Book of Boba Fett' is inching ever closer to its release at the end of this year, and so we've already got our first indication of what we can expect for the third Disney+ live-action series set in a galaxy far, far away.
Executive produced by Robert Rodriguez, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, the series will continue the storyline set up during the season two episode of 'The Mandalorian', entitled 'The Tragedy'. The episode introduced the bounty hunter into the TV series fold, played by Temuera Morrison, as well as the re-introduction of Ming-Na Wen as the mercenary Fennec Shand.
Speaking with Collider about working on the new Disney+ Billie Eilish Cinematic Concert Experience 'Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles', Rodriguez also made sure to drum up anticipation for 'The Book of Boba Fett'.
While still remaining quite tight-lipped, he said: "[I] can’t say anything about it at all right now, but it’s coming out in December… Wait until you see what’s coming. It’s going to blow your mind. That’s all I can say. I can talk it up all I want, because I know it over-delivers. It way over-delivers. People are going to be so pumped when they see it."
After 'Boba Fett' hits screens this year, there will be plenty more 'Star Wars' live-action series on the way in the future to the streaming service. Disney+ has a number of productions in the pipeline, including 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen; 'Ahsoka' with Rosario Dawson in the title role; as well as 'Rangers of the New Republic' and a 'Rogue One' prequel series titled 'Andor'.
'The Book of Boba Fett' will arrive on Disney+ this December. Expect more details on the series, including a first-look trailer, to be released in the coming months.
