Samhain. You pronounce it Sow-Unn. Say it again - Sow-Unn.
With 'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' landing on Netflix this weekend, Irish people and pagans who know how to pronounce Samhain have been enjoying how the series regularly butchers the word.
A key scene in the series sees the word pronounced phonetically, meaning it comes out like Sam-Hane. To be fair, if you saw it written down, you'd think the same.
Needless to say, the mispronunciation didn't go unnoticed on Twitter. Here's a quick overview of the reaction so far.
I was enjoying the new Sabrina but they've just pronounced samhain wrong and now I'm disgusted.

To be fair, most Irish people have at least 10 years of the language drilled into them so obviously we'd pick it up. Plus, aren't there literally hundreds of videos on YouTube that teach people how to pronounce it?
Still, at least they didn't mess up how to spell Athy. Looking at you, 'Atypical'.
'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' is now on Netflix.
