The famed Ubisoft video game franchise is being turned into a new Netflix series.
With 11 entries in the video game's main series, as well as one more due for release next month, an 'Assassin's Creed' live-action adaptation will be hitting our screens at some point in the near future. Here's everything we know so far about the 'Assassin's Creed' on Netflix adaptation.
The international best-selling video game franchise will once again be getting a new adaptation, following the critically-panned Michael Fassbender movie from 2016. Hopefully, Netflix will be helping us forget all about that hot mess.
Under the new agreement between Ubisoft and Netflix, the creators promise that the "first" entry in the series will be "an epic, genre-bending live-action adaptation" that "will tap into the iconic video game’s trove of dynamic stories with global mass appeal for adaptations of live action, animated, and anime series".
Ubisoft Film and Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will serve as Executive Producers on the project, with both having worked on the Apple TV's 'Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet' starring Rob McElhenney. No series director has yet been announced, but a search is currently underway to find them.
However, which version of the video game franchise we will get remains to be seen. Will it be the high seas? Perhaps it might be more related to the upcoming 'Valhalla' entry in the series? Or maybe we'll see Altaïr on the screen once again. We'll know more details on the stealth-based project once a showrunner has been announced.

'The Witcher' starring Henry Cavil is another video game series which has proven a big success on Netflix, with a second season imminent very soon. 'The Witcher: Blood Origin' is a planned prequel spin-off series, which will be helmed by Irish film director Declan de Barra.
