The sci-fi series based on the books by Isaac Asimov finally has a confirmed air date for later this year.
The mind-bending TV series, which has been a number of years in the making, finally has a release date of this September. Apple TV+ has also given us our second proper glimpse of what to expect, with the release of the new 'Foundation' trailer, which you can see below.
The 10-part series, which was partially filmed in Troy Studios in Limerick and reportedly cost upwards of €45 million (the largest-ever production to shoot in Ireland), chronicles "the stories of four crucial individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity".
The epic saga is based on the book series written by American author Isaac Asimov during the 1940s and '50s, which influenced many sci-fi movies and series we know and love today. This TV adaptation comes from visionary showrunner and executive producer David S. Goyer - known for 'Batman Begins' and 'Man of Steel'.
Both Jared Harris and Lee Pace will star in the series, alongside Laura Birn, Terrence Mann, Cassian Bilton, Alfred Enoch, and rising stars Lou Llobell and Leah Harvey.
Apple TV+ unveiled some of their upcoming TV shows and movies for the coming year recently, where we caught some new moments of the sci-fi adventure. However, now we've got a second full-blown 'Foundation' trailer to salivate over until its release in the autumn.
The first three episodes of the series will debut globally on Apple TV+ on September 24, followed by a new episode every Friday.
