Andrew Scott might be playing Tony Blair in 'The Crown'.
The Irish Sun reports that Andrew Scott is in talks with the creators of the Netflix series.
The Irish actor is 44, while Blair was 43 at the time that he came to power in 1997.
Scott is probably most renowned for playing the so-called "hot priest" in season 2 of 'Fleabag'.
He also played Jim Moriarty in the series 'Sherlock', and won a BAFTA for his performance.
A TV insider told The Sun: "This role is one of the most anticipated castings on The Crown.
"The final series covers the Prime Minister’s epic clash with the Queen over her response to the death of Diana in 1997.
"So the creators wanted an adaptable actor like Andrew who has proved he can master the charm and intimidating presence that typified Blair."
Mind you, Andrew Scott's agent said he's be unavailable for the current filming dates. Still, they may reshuffle his schedule to make his casting in 'The Crown' work.
The fifth season of the show will see Imelda Staunton replace Olivia Colman as the Queen, while Dominic West will take over from Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles.
Elizabeth Debicki will play Princess Diana, previously played by Emma Corrin. Lesley Manville will play Princess Margaret, played by Helena Bonham Carter in the last two seasons.
Andrew Scott has a number of upcoming gigs including the titular role in 'Ripley' and a voice role in 'Heart of Darkness'.
