There was a period, just after 'Fleabag' ended, where it seemed as though Andrew Scott may be in danger of being known as the 'Hot Priest' forever.

The Irish actor's career trajectory continues to skyrocket following roles in the likes of 'His Dark Materials', '1917' and of course, in 'All of Us Strangers' which is out this week.

He'll continue that momentum with the release of 'Ripley' on Netflix in April, where the 47-year-old will play Tom Ripley,  "a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, who is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son to return home. 

The series, which was adapted by Steve Zaillian - the man responsible for the superb 'The Night Of' - is based on Patricia Highsmith's series of books, and of course, the character of Tom Ripley has previously been portrayed by Matt Damon in the 1999 film 'The Talented Mr. Ripley'.

The first teaser trailer for the psychological drama sees Scott joined by his castmates Dakota Fanning and Johnny Flynn. John Malkovich is also among the cast.

It lands on Netflix on April 4th.
