After six seasons, and one cancellation along the way, the series is coming to an end.
Ahead of its season five premiere this December, Amazon has made the announcement that season six of 'The Expanse' will be its last.
The sci-fi drama, which is set in a future where humans have set up homes in various places in the solar system, is full of action, suspense, and full-on space adventure.
Starring Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper, and Steven Strait, the action series was originally a Syfy production in the US and on Netflix in most other regions. However, the series nearly came to an early end after season three.
Due to its large cult following however, fans managed to save the show by showing huge interest in its survival, and so Amazon Studios took over the reigns of the production in 2018. The series is gearing up for its fifth season arrival at the end of the year.
It is believed however that cast member Anvar, who plays Alex Kamal, will not be returning for the final season. The actor has been embroiled in a number of sexual misconduct allegations this year.
According to Deadline, production on the final, sixth season will begin in the new year on January 20.
Here's the trailer for 'The Expanse' season five, which arrives on Amazon Prime December 16. Three episodes will be available at first, followed by a new episode each week afterwards.
