The glorious return of Ricky Gervais' Netflix comedy/drama series is just around the corner, as Netflix have released the trailer.
Set in the small fictitious town of Tambury, Tony (Ricky Gervais), is a writer for the local newspaper whose life is upended after his wife dies from cancer. While season one of the show saw the character struggle with grief, the new season seems to start off in much the same vein. However, judging by the 'After Life' season two trailer above, it seems that Tony is trying to become a better friend to those around him. With everyone grappling with their own problems, will the town’s local amateur drama show be able to lift everyone’s spirits?
The six-part second series will see Ricky Gervais be joined once again by comedians and actors such as Joe Wilkinson, Ashley Jensen, Roisin Conaty, and Paul Kaye.
Ricky Gervais said about the second season:
"I was blown away by the reaction to season one. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it! It’s been truly heart-warming to see how the show has resonated with so many viewers on an emotional level. I can’t wait for everyone to see season 2 where hope is everything.”
'After Life' season two arrives on Netflix Friday, April 24.
