Netflix's sequel series will certainly not be easing us into the action.

It appears we've to ready ourselves for all cylinders firing at once in the new series, from the looks of the 'Vikings: Valhalla' trailer released today.

Set over a hundred years after the end of the original series, 'Valhalla' will be a new adventure that blends historical authenticity and drama with the gritty, immersive action that the show has been known for.

Filmed in Wicklow, the series stars Sam Corlet ('The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'), Frida Gustavsson ('Tigers'), Leo Suter ('Beecham House'), Bradley Freegard ('Keeping Faith'), Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson ('Infinite'), Caroline Henderson ('Gooseboy'), Laura Berlin ('Breaking Even'), and David Oakes ('Victoria').

The series was filmed on location at Ashford Studios in Wicklow and wrapped production in January of 2021. By the looks of the 'Vikings: Valhalla' trailer below, the studios were home to a number of big set pieces which will be brought to life on our screens over a year later.

The official Netflix synopsis of the series is as follows: Set in the early 11th century, 'Vikings: Valhalla' chronicles the heroic adventures of some of the most famous Vikings who ever lived — the legendary explorer Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), his fiery and headstrong sister Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson), and the ambitious Nordic prince Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter). As tensions between the Vikings and the English royals reach a bloody breaking point and as the Vikings themselves clash over their conflicting Christian and pagan beliefs, these three Vikings begin an epic journey that will take them across oceans and through battlefields, from Kattegat to England and beyond, as they fight for survival and glory.

Here's the teaser.

'Vikings: Valhalla' premieres on Netflix on February 25.
