The teen-mystery-fantasy-crime-drama (yeah, genre wise, it was a bit all over the place...) 'The Irregulars' has been cancelled at Netflix.

'The Irregulars' debuted its eight episodes in late March. Deadline broke the news of its cancellation.

Inspired by the works of Arthur Conan Doyle, the series was set in Victorian London.

It followed a bunch of teens as they solves mysteries of the supernatural variety.

The news was a surprise given the show not only made it into Netflix's top 10 list, trending at No. 1 for a time.

It also beat out Marvel Disney+ series 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' in Nielsen’s weekly U.S. streaming charts at the end of April.

The series also received mostly positive reviews from critics, holding a 78% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

It seems that 'The Irregulars' is following the trend of so many other Netflix series that have gotten the axe after just one or two seasons in recent years.

The show starred Thaddea Graham, McKell David, Jojo Macari, Harrison Osterfield and Darci Shaw. Royce Pierreson and Henry Lloyd-Hughes played Doctor Watson and Sherlock Holmes, respectively.

We're not going to lie, we weren't the biggest fans of the series.
