Irish actor Danielle Galligan stars in the latest Netflix series.
The latest Netflix series coming our way is an adaptation of Leigh Bardugo's worldwide bestselling Grishaverse novels. 'Shadow & Bone' places us in a world which is caught up in war, and there is only one young woman who can save the day.
Alina Starkov, played by Jessie Mei Li ('All About Eve'), is an orphan who must train to hone her skills with a magical group of soldiers before the monstrous "Shadow Fold" rages, destroying everything in its wake.
'Shadow and Bone' is a Netflix production from 21 Laps Entertainment, and stars Irish actor Danielle Galligan. Danielle has made brief appearances in other productions, including 'Game of Thrones'. Here, she will play Nina Zenik, a charming member of the "Grisha", who can damage a person's inner organs.
Also included in the cast for the young adult series is Archie Renaux as Malyen Oretsev, Freddy Carter as Kaz Brekker, Amita Suman as Inej, Kit Young as Jesper Fahey, and Ben Barnes as General Kirigan. Zoë Wanamaker (Madam Hooch in 'Harry Potter') will also star.

'Shadow and Bone' finds us in a war-torn world where lowly soldier and orphan Alina Starkov has just unleashed an extraordinary power that could be the key to setting her country free. With the monstrous threat of the Shadow Fold looming, Alina is torn from everything she knows to train as part of an elite army of magical soldiers known as Grisha. But as she struggles to hone her power, she finds that allies and enemies can be one and the same and that nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. There are dangerous forces at play, including a crew of charismatic criminals, and it will take more than magic to survive.
'Shadow and Bone' premieres on 23 April, only on Netflix. The series will comprise of eight hour-long episodes.
