Annie Murphy, best known for playing Alexis Rose on 'Schitt's Creek', is joining the cast of 'Russian Doll' for its second season.

The news arrives just as production kicks off on new episodes.

Annie Murphy previously won an Emmy for her performance on 'Schitt's Creek'.

The actress also received nominations at the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Critics' Choice Television Awards, and the Canadian Screen Roles for her role on the comedy.

Annie Murphy has been keeping busy of late. She'll also star in 'Kevin Can F**k Himself', which premieres on AMC this summer.

'Russian Doll' season one aired in 2019 and was renewed for a second season a few months after its debut.

The series was created by and stars Natasha Lyonne ('American Pie', 'Orange is the New Black'.

Its 'Groundhog Day'-like premise follows a young woman named Nadia who keeps dying at her birthday party in New York. She has to relive the night over and over, struggling to figure out how to break the time loop.

The details about the character Annie Murphy will play are being kept under wraps for now.

Production on 'Russian Doll' season 2 commenced last week.

You can watch season one on Netflix now.
