*SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING OF 'CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA' PART FOUR BELOW*

The chilling ending of Sabrina on Netflix has arrived, with the final, fourth part wrapping up the teenage drama series (you can read all about the ending here).

During the fourth season, viewers were gifted with the surprise arrival of Beth Broderick and Caroline Rhea, who originally played Sabrina's aunts Zelda and Hilda in 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch'. The pair appeared in an alternate Greendale reality during the penultimate episode of 'Chilling Adventure of Sabrina' Netflix series.

However, was there ever a chance that the original Sabrina Spellman - played by Melissa Joan Harte - would make an Easter Egg appearance? Unfortunately, it appears that was never on the cards.

Speaking with Digital Spy recently, Broderick spoke about her return to the franchise and how Harte was never considered due to it not making sense.

The actor said: "I don't know. I personally think that would have been very hard to structure. It would have been very… almost destructive to try to bring her in.

"Because with us, the aunties got even older. That makes sense. But for Sabrina to be suddenly a grown woman with three kids of her own – I think it'd be harder to meld those plots, you know?"

Broderick also touched on the ending to 'CAOS' wherein *SPOILER* Sabrina sacrifices herself in order to save the realm.

She continued: "It's really kind of... It's kind of sad. It's kind of upsetting. I can't bear to think of Sabrina – either Sabrina or any Sabrina – as dead. But it's certainly powerful.

"And it certainly means that a new iteration of Sabrina can be born in the future, you know?"

Well, apparently not. Although a fifth season was originally discussed, the series will have to make do with the rushed ending that played out during season four. For now, the character is finished at Netflix (but continues on in her world in The Archie Comics).

When the Netflix series cast Kiernan Shipka for her newer, darker portrayal of the iconic '90s character, Melissa Joan Harte tweeted her blessing by saying "Congrats to the new generation!"
