Can the town which featured in Netflix's 'Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga' bag an Oscar? They hope so.

The original song 'Húsavík' from the Will Ferrell comedy movie has been shortlisted for the Oscars 2021, and the town where the Netflix comedy was filmed is hoping that their plea will help them claim their first Academy Award.

Starring a man called Óskar Óskarsson, who is the only Óskar in Húsavík, he's campaigning for another, smaller Oscar to move into the town this year. Óskar and his fellow townspeople are very excited about the prospect of the song about their hometown being included in the Oscars shortlist that they've even created a website to go along with their campaign video, and he gives us a quick tour of his hometown, "the most beautiful town in the world".

Reaching out to the elves for guidance, and getting school kids to sing 'Húsavík' at all times of the day, they sure have pulled out all of the stops to ensure the Academy Awards can see them.

Everyone is excited about the prospect this song could have on the town, except for one man of course, who is still stuck on 'Jaja Ding Dong' being the better track.

Here's the town of Húsavík and their very cute video.

The 'Husavik - My Home Town' song was Iceland's entry in the fictional Eurovision song contest in the Netflix film. Rachel McAdams' Sigrit sings the song, but it was actually recorded by Swedish pop singer Molly Sandén.

Here's the song which will be hoping for an Oscar 2021 nomination. The full list will be revealed this year on March 15.
