The slasher sequel film gets a proper first-look trailer ahead of its release this Friday.
'Fear Street Part 2: 1978' will take place at an all-American summer camp, Camp Nightwing, during a '70 summer not likely to be forgotten about very easily.
'Fear Street' is Netflix's horror event of this summer sees the streaming platform release a trilogy of new movies during the month of July. 'Part 1: 1994' (which we found a tad underwhelming) was released last week, and focussed on a group of teens who discover the freaky deaths of Shadyside that have been happening for centuries might all be connected.
This time around, however, we're going back in time to when an axe-wielding lunatic who lets loose at a children's summer camp, and the teens will have to escape his clutches if they want to live to tell the tale. As you can see in the trailer below, which is set to Gloria Gaynor's aptly-titled 1978 hit 'I Will Survive', the campmates further unlock the secrets of Shadyside, which will inevitably set up the third entry in the trilogy, 'Part 3: 1666'. This will be released the following week, on July 16.
The second entry in the series stars Sadie Sink, Max in Netflix's 'Stranger Things', who will be the main star of the slasher this time around. Also appearing in the horror will be 'Community' star Gillian Jacobs, who made a very brief appearance at the end of the first entry in the trilogy.
The 'Fear Street' trilogy is based on the popular young adult book series by author R. L. Stine, who also wrote 'Goosebumps'.
