Alfie is back for good

Lucien Laviscount's character Alfie has been made permanent but we swear if it's more of the same craic again, we're out.

If, like us, you swallowed 'Emily in Paris' season two within a weekend over Christmas and can't fully remember what happened, let's recap.

The tension between Gabrielle and Emily is off the Richter scale after they hooked up at the end of season one. There's a whole different kind of tension between exes Camille and Gabrielle since Camille hasn't got a clue about 'Emrielle'. Emily confesses her love for him at the end of season two, despite being with Alfie, but oops — Gabrielle is back together with Camille. Cue the cliffhanger: will Emily stay in Paris?

Although there has been no official announcement of filming locations as of yet, Emily is no stranger to a little bit of travelling. In season two, she holidayed in Saint Tropez on the Cote d'Azur with her girlfriends. She even had the gall to visit Camille's family in Champagne once again.

Since Lily Collin's Instagram post back in December teasing Berlin as the new home of the Netflix original, the internet has its theories about Emily exploring more of Europe.

Can't wait for Emily in Berlin, featuring kebab selfies, five episodes just of Emily trying to get her Anmeldung, a horror-themed one of her going to Kotti for the first time, and the finale is Emily clubbing and getting high on ketamine.

Which characters are back?

We're fully expecting the regulars to be back on our screens for season 3, including Emily, Sylvie, Mindy, Gabriel, Julien, Luc, Camille, and Antoine. But that hasn't been confirmed yet.

We've recently learned that Alfie has been promoted to a series regular — yay for him, but honestly, if season three is more of Emily being one foot in, one foot out with the lads she fancies, we're going to lose it, Pierre Cadot style.

What will season 3 be about?

In a recent chat with Elle, producer Darren Star discussed what's going to happen in season three, and it sounds... interesting?

"She’s faced with a major decision. She has reasons to pick a number of doors at the end of season two, and our challenge is deciding which of those doors she’s going to choose and why. That’s what season three is going to be about. When you live in a foreign country, one of the questions is, where’s your heart? Is it the place you came from, or the place you are at the moment? Emily is going to be struggling with that as well."
