Season 2 of Netflix series 'Emily in Paris' is currently filming. Its creator Darren Star has hinted at what we can expect to see.

In an interview with Variety, Star defended some of the criticism that the first season of 'Emily in Paris' received.

As a reminder, French critics loathed the series. They clapped back at its stereotyping of French people and culture.

Darren Star explained that Paris in their show is glamourous because that's how its young American protagonist sees it.

He said: "For me, it’s the evolution of the character.

"I think when someone goes to Paris for the first time, they are overwhelmed by the beauty of the city and that’s what they’re seeing."

He continued: "I think, perhaps, a lot of viewers who lived in Paris for a long time didn’t quite understand that this was through the lens of a character who was experiencing the city for the first time. "

Season 2 will see not only Emily in Paris, but also in St. Tropez and other locations in the South of France.

Star noted: "Certainly, the more quotidian aspects of life start to come in and I think that’s what’s going to happen to her."

The series creator also noted that "Emily will embrace the city a little bit more," in this season, as she continues to struggle learning French.

"When she got there, she got a bit of a free pass in the beginning and I don’t think it will be quite as easy for her in the second season," he said.

"I think she will be more assimilated, in terms of living in Paris and stepping up to the challenges of learning the language."

Darren Star also teased that there would be a fallout following the cliffhanger of season one. Viewers will recall that it involved a certain chef love interest named Gabriel...

'Emily in Paris' does not have a premiere date for season 2 just yet.
