Daredevil and Kingpin will share the screen together once again in the upcoming Disney+ series. It's not what we were hoping for, but at least it's something.
The Disney+ series 'Echo' will see two of our favourite TV heroes and villains share the screen once again. Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are lined up to appear once again as Daredevil and Kingpin, reviving their roles from the cancelled Netflix Original Series.
Both stars have of course reprised their roles recently - but in separate manners. D’Onofrio appeared in 'Hawkeye' as the series' surprise baddie, while Cox's Matt Murdoch appeared in a scene during 'Spider-Man: No Way Home'. This new venture, however, will see the characters share the screen for the first time since 2018.
The Disney+ 'Echo' series is currently filming in Atlanta, and will follow the secondary character who appeared in 'Hawkeye', played by Alaqua Cox (no relation to Charlie). Based on the superhero from Marvel comics, Maya/Echo is of Native American descent and is also deaf. She has strong connections with Daredevil in the comics, an on-again, off-again adversary and love interest.
The 'Hawkeye' series introduced Echo as Kingpin's adoptive daughter, but the devoted child eventually figured out that her father might not be the most trustworthy of people, and ended the series by killing the mob boss - or at least that's what it looked like.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 'Echo' series will include a storyline which re-introduces Daredevil as he searches for a former ally - which many suspect is Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones. However, many also think that Jessica Jones could re-appear in 'She-Hulk', which begins on Disney+ in August.
All six of Netflix's cancelled Marvel series recently made the switch to Disney+, including 'Luke Cage', 'Iron Fist', 'The Defenders' and 'The Punisher'. Fans have been waiting for these characters to pop up in more Marvel productions, so at least now we have confirmation that two of the biggest stars will be returning yet again.
The newest Marvel movie production, 'Thor: Love and Thunder', is in cinemas now.
