Just a few days after the release of 'Black Parade', Beyoncé is getting ready for another surprise release in the form of a visual album on Disney+.
'Black Is King' will land on the streaming platform on July 31st, and is directly inspired by 'The Lion King' in which Beyoncé played Nala.
The visual album is based on tracks from 'The Lion King: The Gift', an album produced by Beyoncé that featured input from the likes of Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, 070 Shake, Tierra Whack, Jay-Z, Blue Ivy Carter and Jessie Reyez, as well as African artists including Shatta Wale, Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Wizkid, Busiswa, Salatiel, and Burna Boy.
In the press release, 'Black Is King' is described as "a story for the ages that informs and rebuilds the present. A reunion of cultures and shared generational beliefs. A story of how the people left most broken have an extraordinary gift and a purposeful future."
