Uploading a lengthy post to her Instagram account, the star shed some light about the time she played Nurse Sheridan in the TV series.

Now that 'The Fall' with Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan has arrived on Netflix, it's become one of the steamer's most-watched series this year, appearing in Ireland and the UK's Top 10 for the past number of weeks. And Aisling Bea has quite a few stories to tell from her time on set.

Appearing in four episodes in the final season as Nurse Sheridan back in 2016, Aisling has poked some fun at her co-star Jamie Dornan, while also managing to praise NHS nurses in the UK for working long hours. The actress also revealed that because of her training while on set, she was able to help a friend "when they needed care".

Uploading a picture of Jamie looking back at her while on a plane, she said the actor: "Naturally looks creepy no matter what he pops out from, even this plane seat. Soz Jamie."

She then spoke of the training she received during filming 'The Fall', praising the nurses for helping her behind the scenes. She continued: "Thanks to the nurses and them being so good to me, I can still genuinely change a tracheostomy tube & years later was able to help a friend do this when they needed care.

"There were 2 brilliant ICU nurses on set all the time during filming keeping an eye that we were doing the stuff right & they were such good craic. I forget their names so if you know who you are, please message. They even invited me to the nurse’s Xmas party that was happening during filming in my hotel."

The actress then went on to allude to getting up to a spot of "socially distanced activity" in dogging while in she was in Lockdown earlier this year, before spreading some more love about hard-working nurses.

#TheFall is now on UK @netflixuk & being watched quite a lot - I know this because I’m getting daily messages from people asking if I am okay - particularly because of the long shift I seem to be working as a nurse. This includes a message from @mousethedog - son of @sara.pascoe & @steenrasko who dressed himself up as the “Belfast Strangler” this weekend. Qi style Facts: -@jamiedornan naturally looks creepy no matter what he pops out from, even this plane seat. Soz Jamie. - When I was filming, I did a day of training as an ICU nurse. As you can see here I am pictured with Jamie’s legless stunt double “plastic Derek”, who I went on to have a torrid & intense affair with. They obviously would not let an idiot like me into a hospital to observe now, but thanks to the nurses & them being so good to me, I can still genuinely change a tracheostomy tube & years later was able to help a friend do this when they needed care. - There were 2 brilliant ICU nurses on set all the time during filming keeping an eye that we were doing the stuff right & they were such good craic. I forget their names so if you know who you are, please message. They even invited me to the nurse’s Xmas party that was happening during filming in my hotel. “WE NEED A NIGHT OUT BECAUSE WE ARE OVER WORKED AND UNDERPAID AND STILL GOING”. - Belfast is one of the best places to work in & no matter what the subject matter, the crew & team are always TOP LAUGHS. - I still have my The Fall gilet & wore it for most of Lockdown on my daily one hour walks & definitely looked like I was going dogging. And maybe I was, because guys it’s a safe, socially distanced activity one can still enjoy. ? - SO BIG LOVE TO ALL THE NURSES OUT THERE TREATING PEOPLE NO MATTER WHO THEY ARE OR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE. I hope everyone in the NHS & working in care homes gets a bloody pay rise ASAP because they should not be relying on fundraising & side earners, great as they are, to top up their wages & to compensate for their safety & livelihoods. They should be properly paid and cared for, for caring for us. Let’s hold our elected officials to account on this. Ha. Tricked you into reading something serious at the end there.

The next time we'll be seeing the Irish actress on our screens may be the 'Home Alone' reboot for Disney+, which is currently in post-production.
