A whole heap of Studio Ghibli movies are coming to Netflix.
Founded in 1985, Studio Ghibli is a world-renowned Japanese animation film studio. Its most popular movies include 'My Neighbour Totoro', 'Spirited Away', 'Princess Mononoke' and 'Ponyo'.
Those anime classics are coming to Netflix around the world.
Which means means Netflix Ireland & the UK will get the movies too.
They'll be screened in their native Japanese, with sub-titles.
The first wave of releases drops on February 1st and includes 'Laputa Castle in the Sky', 'My Neighbor Totoro', 'Kiki’s Delivery Service', 'Only Yesterday', 'Porco Rosso', 'Ocean Waves', and 'Tales from Earthsea'.
Then more will arrive on March 1st. This batch includes 'Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind', 'Princess Mononoke', 'My Neighbors the Yamadas', 'Spirited Away', 'The Cat Returns', 'Arrietty', and 'The Tale of The Princess Kaguya'.
After that, on April 1st, the service gets 'Pom Poko', 'Whisper of the Heart', 'Howl’s Moving Castle', 'Ponyo', 'From Up on Poppy Hill', 'The Wind Rises', and 'When Marnie Was There'.
So basically all of them (aside from 'Grave of the Fireflies') will be available on Netflix in the coming months.
And we can't recommend all of them enough, as each is special and beautiful in its own way.
