While 'Star Trek: Discovery' and its first season didn't exactly win over everyone, the second season looks to be drawing heavily on the established characters of the franchise and one of them is, naturally, Spock.
Although he was mentioned repeatedly in the first season, Spock was never shown on screen - until now, that is. Ethan Peck (yes, he's the grandson of Gregory Peck) will be playing the human-Vulcan hybrid and is sporting a very neat beard in this new trailer for the second season, which debuted at the New York Comic Con this weekend.
Take a look.
As you can see, there's plenty of action and plenty of very confusing storylines ripping through it, what with that whole schtick about the Mirror Universe in the last season and the arrival of the USS Enterprise in the final episode.
There's no word yet on whether or not 'Discovery' will go for a third season, however it was confirmed this weekend that the upcoming series with Patrick Stewart returning as Jean-Luc Picard will not have any impact or crossover with 'Discovery' - which makes sense because they're their own thing independently.
The second season of 'Star Trek: Discovery' begins streaming on Netflix in January 2019.
