Based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Greg Rucka, 'The Old Guard' will see Charlize Theron play a warrior named Andy whose role is to lead and protect a covert group of mercenaries, who have the mysterious inability to never die.
In 'The Old Guard' trailer above, we see that Charlize Theron and her band of immortal soldiers don't have it so easy in the 21st Century. Adapting to the times, having been alive for many years, she and her soldiers have to try and remain anonymous in the world, and attempt to evade those who wish to keep them as specimens to be studied.
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood ('Love & Basketball' and 'Beyond the Lights'), the new Netflix entry is said to tell "a gritty, grounded, action-packed story that shows living forever is harder than it looks." Netflix previously teased the new action-adventure by releasing stills from the movie.
Charlize Theron, who also acted as a producer in Netflix's next big action flick (hot on the heels of Chris Hemsworth's 'Extraction', which will be getting a sequel), she will be joined on-screen by Marwan Kenzari (who played Jafar in Disney's live-action 'Aladdin'), Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley from 'Harry Potter') Kiki Layne ('If Beale Street Could Talk'), and Chiwetel Ejiofor ('12 Years A Slave').
'The Old Guard' will land on Netflix July 10.
