Inspired by Iain Reid's bestselling novel comes a very eagerly-anticipated Netflix addition.

'I'm Thinking of Ending Things' is directed and written by Academy Award-winner Charlie Kaufman, who you'll know for helping create the likes of 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', 'Anomalisa', and 'Being John Malkovich' - so if you're a fan of his types of movies you know exactly what to expect here. Your brain is going to melt.

Starring Killarney's Jessie Buckley, the movie sees her meet her boyfriend's (Jesse Plemons from 'Breaking Bad' and 'Fargo') parents for the first time in the middle of winter. Upon reaching his home house and being introduced to them (the brilliant Toni Collette and David Thewlis), she begins to notice strange anomalies happening.

The trailer doesn't give too much of the plot away, but Buckley's character wants to end her relationship with her boyfriend. The trailer is quite chilling with various noises playing on a loop, making the viewer feel more than a little uncomfortable.

The official synopsis is as follows:

Despite second thoughts about their relationship, a young woman (Jessie Buckley) takes a road trip with her new boyfriend (Jesse Plemons) to his family farm. Trapped at the farm during a snowstorm with Jake’s mother (Toni Collette) and father (David Thewlis), the young woman begins to question the nature of everything she knew or understood about her boyfriend, herself, and the world. An exploration of regret, longing and the fragility of the human spirit.

'I'm Thinking of Ending Things' arrives on Netflix this September 4.
