There are few things more settling, more peaceful than seeing a child in the arms of a parent.

Of course, the reality is often that the parents are sleep-deprived and exhausted, the child has shat themselves, and the picture of tranquility is coming at the tail-end of a twelve-hour effort to get them to sleep. But, still, it's a beautiful sight to see.

What does that have to do with this image of George Lucas cradling Baby Yoda / the child who is the same species as Yoda (that's for you, pedants) from 'The Mandalorian', then? Because like what we just described, it looks peaceful and harmonious, but we all know the reality underneath.

George Lucas is, of course, no longer involved with 'Star Wars' and seems to be on the outside of the House of Mouse after making all kinds of disparaging comments about the sequel trilogy. Still, it's nice to see him with Baby Yoda / we're not typing that all out again. More to the point, is Baby Yoda indicative of Western monoculture and late-stage capitalism where we venerate a product that has been deliberately created to tap into nostalgia for a more innocent time?

Yeah, best not to think about that. Enjoy, then, this peaceful image. Just don't think too hard about it.
