What happens when the visionary directors behind 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame' team up with one of the Marvel Cinematic Universes biggest stars for an action adventure? This.
Chris Hemsworth, known for playing Asgardian Thor in the Avengers series, has teamed up with The Russo Brothers for what looks like a must-watch Netflix film. In the 'Extraction' trailer above, we see Hemsworth's Tyler Rake (a cringey name, but we'll gloss over this) attempt to rescue the kidnapped son of an international crime lord. It might sound like your bog-standard action movie, but with Joe and Anthony Russo on board, at least it'll look damn cool.
In the 'Extraction' trailer, which is set to Alt-J's track 'In Cold Blood', Hemsworth's character interacts with another recognisable face in David Harbour, who also stars int he movie. Harbour will be known to Netflix audiences for his role in 'Stranger Things'. Filmed on location in India and Thailand, the action movie also stars Rudraksh Jaisawl, Randeep Hooda, Golshifteh Farahani, Pankaj Tripathi, Priyanshu Painyuli.
The official Netflix synopsis of 'Extraction' is as follows:
Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth) is a fearless black market mercenary with nothing left to lose when his skills are solicited to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord. But in the murky underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible, forever altering the lives of Rake and the boy. An action-packed, edge-of-your-seat thriller directed by Sam Hargrave.
'Extraction' starring Chris Hemsworth arrives on Netflix April 24.
