Netflix have announced that 'Big Mouth' is returning, following its second season arrived on October 5th. Based on the real-life stories of best friends' Kroll and Goldberg, the animated series has garnered success since its launch in September 2017.

The show follows the lives of a band of friends who are going through puberty in high school. The obvious ups and downs, and the inclusion of the "Hormone Monsters" has made the show a favourite among streamers. Although completely far-fetched, the series can be somewhat relatable to viewers. 'Big Mouth' features the voices of Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, Jenny Slate, Jessi Klein. David Thewlis was introduced as "The Shame Wizard" in its second season; and co-creator Kroll also voices 12 characters on the show.

In our review of the second season, we said "'Big Mouth' has covered much about coming of age and will likely struggle to find relevant plots if it continues for another season. What we have from it so far in any case is smart, witty, and never heavy-going."

Mark Levin, one of the screenwriter-directors, has spoken about their interviewing techniques for writers on the Netflix show. He said, "Whenever we interviewed a writer for the show we’d always say, 'Tell us about what it was like when you had your first period, or what it was like when you were caught masturbating'. That was the litmus test because they had to be able to freely open up. We made the room a really safe place where everyone could talk about that."

Netflix recently announced that both Marvel series 'Iron Fist' and 'Luke Cage' would not be returning for their own third series'. Low viewing figures are believed to have been the cause of the cancellations.
