Former One Direction member Zayn Malik and his partner, model Gigi Hadid, have welcomed their first child.

Their baby girl is believed to have been born at the weekend, with Malik making the announcement with a very sweet photo and post on Instagram in the early hours of  this morning.

The clearly overwhelmed new dad wrote: "Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful. To try put into words how i am feeling right now would be an impossible task.  The love i feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding.Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together x.”

Hadid chimed in with her own post, saying: "Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she’s already changed our world. So in love."

Malik and Hadid have had an on-off relationship since 2015, but reunited in 2019 and announced their impending parenthood earlier this year.

Malik is the second member of the boyband to become a father; Louis Tomlinson is dad to 3-year-old Freddie.

There's no word on a name for the sprog yet, but watch this space...
