Now, Nirvana fans will be able to own an item of memorabilia that's a little more affordable, as the cardigan that he famously wore during Nirvana's MTV Unplugged performance is going up for auction.
Well, when we say 'affordable', we mean 'less than the price of a house'. It'll still set you back between $40,000 (€36,000) and $60,000 (€54,000), according to the auctioneer's guide price.
The auction, which is taking place is Los Angeles on November 7th, also includes a lock of Cobain's hair with a guide price of $8,000 to $10,000.
Other items in the 'Rock 'n' Roll Icons & Idols' auction include a fang mold from Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' video, items from Jackson's Neverland ranch including life-sized cowboy and Indian figurines, boots worn by Elvis Presley and a handwritten letter by George Harrison.
