We don't care what anyone says, Will Young's 'Leave Right Now' is one of the finest pop ballads of the last twenty years and we'll fight anyone who claims otherwise.
However, it seems that not everyone was impressed by the Pop Idol winner's 2003 hit, as he revealed in a new interview with The Telegraph.
He claimed that his label made him record the song several times because his vocal 'sounded gay'.
"I didn’t know at the time, but when I was recording ‘Leave Right Now’, someone at the record company said I ‘sounded gay’ and kept making me re-record the track,” he said.
“There’s a real flavour to homophobia and bigotry. It’s really shaming. People don’t understand the power of language.”
