It's been a few years since Ireland managed to qualify for the Eurovision final - five years, actually, not that we're counting - but hopefully that will all change tonight.
Wild Youth are bidding to push us over the line to compete with the big guns in Saturday's final when they perform 'We Are One' in the first semi-final tonight.
The Dublin band have not been without controversy in recent weeks, after parting ways with their creative director Ian Banham due to tweets that the band had deemed transphobic, issuing a statement saying "Wild Youth is a band that stands for unity and kindness. Our song represents our beliefs as a band. We have cut all ties with Ian Banham and will not have him on or near our team or Eurovison journey. We are so sorry for anyone offended by his comments."
Tonight's semi-final has already been deemed the more competitive one by several onlookers, with some strong entries amongst the other countries taking part - Norway, Malta, Serbia, Latvia, Portugal, Croatia, Switzerland, Israel, Moldova, Sweden, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Finland.
10 of the 15 acts will qualify tonight and go through to Saturday's grand final at the Liverpool Arena, which Sweden is currently the hot favourite to win. Indeed, if Sweden do triumph, they will equal Ireland's record of seven Eurovision wins.
You can watch tonight's semi-final on RTÉ One, RTÉ Radio 1 and the RTÉ Player at 8pm. Wild Youth will perform sixth.
C'mon Ireland!
