That hologram tour of the famed singer will be taking up a residency in the city that never sleep.
If you missed out on the European leg of the tour last year, 'An Evening With Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Concert' is heading Stateside for a Las Vegas residency.
The hologram tour, which hit the Bord Gais Energy Theatre here last March, features the late singer up on stage - but in digitally-altered holographic form. The cutting-edge technology places Whitney at centre stage while the digital version of her is joined by dancers, singers and a live band. The UK and Ireland dates of the tour last year were the only ones not to be disrupted by the pandemic, but other European shows were rescheduled for later in 2020.
And now it's time for North America to experience this... wonder? The late singer's estate made the announcement on Thursday, posting on Instagram: "The boundary-breaking hologram concert, 'An Evening with Whitney: The Whitney Houston Hologram Concert', will make its North American debut with an extended residency at Harrah’s Las Vegas this October!"
The Whitney Houston hologram sees the pop queen perform her most recognisable tracks such as 'How Will I Know', 'I Will Always Love You', and 'It's Not Right But It's Okay'.
Reviews of the Whitney Houston hologram tour weren't exactly spellbinding to say the least, labelled as "tacky", "like saying 'Thank you' to a self-service check-out", and a "pre-recorded fake". Perhaps the production will receive an overhaul ahead of its debut in North America later this year? Perhaps not.
The Las Vegas residency will kick off on October 26 at Harrah’s Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.
