You may think that musicians who have been around for decades are immune to nerves, but Patti Smith proved otherwise at the Nobel Prize ceremony on Saturday.
Smith was stepping in in Bob Dylan's absence - although not at his invitation - to play 'A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall' when two minutes into the performance, she faltered and stopped singing.
"I'm sorry," she said, smiling, "I'm so nervous. Can we start that section again?"
Apart from the hiccup, Smith's rendition of the song was widely praised.
