Florence Welch's live shows are known for their high energy, huge musical accompaniments and the incredible performances by Welch herself.

Anyone who's been at any of her gigs can attest to this and missing out on one - especially through no fault of your own - can be galling. However, for one fan, it worked out.

A fifteen-year old cancer patient at Hospice Austin's Christopher House in Texas was treated to a live performance by Florence Welch and guitarist Rob Ackroyd, who turned up on the ward when they heard that the young woman had missed her recent gig in the area due to illness.

As well as meeting with the fan, Welch also sang a few tracks especially for the young lady and even had her singing along.

Take a look.

Pretty magical stuff, you'd have to agree and fair play to Florence Welch for giving up her time like that.
