If there's one thing you can say in Damon Albarn's favour, it's that the man knows how to please a crowd. He'll play for hours, that man. Literally.

The problem is that his willingness to please also means annoying - like, really annoying - the security guards, who just want to go home to their beds.

That scenario arose over the weekend, when the Blur man was playing Denmark's Roskilde festival with his side project Africa Express - a collective which includes musicians like Songhoy Blues, Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and others.

The band took the stage at 11am but went way over their time slot - playing until 4am, as it happens. By all accounts it was a joyous occasion which saw them cover Gorillaz, The Clash and more, and even Albarn's Blur bandmate Graham Coxon made an appearance.

Once they'd reached the five-hour mark, however, organisers asked the band to stop playing but they refused. In fact, Damon Albarn had to be forcibly removed from the stage by a security guard, who carried him off, after inciting the crowd to chant 'We want more!'.
