Fans watching a Billy Joel tribute band playing a gig in New York last Friday night got a bit of a surprise when none other than Billy Joel himself turned up to play a few tunes.
For Big Shot, the band themselves, it wasn't a clear-cut case of being upstaged; they're currently acting as Joel's backing band for his Madison Square Garden residency, but have a sideline as a Billy Joel covers band.
Since he lives near the venue in Huntington, New York, Joel stopped by to play a few tunes with Big Shot, including a cover of the Rolling Stones' 'Honky Tonk Woman', The Beatles' 'With a Little Help from My Friends' and his own song 'You May Be Right'.
