It's no secret that Arcade Fire are big fans of David Bowie - indeed, the admiration was mutual, since Bowie featured as a guest vocalist on their song 'Reflektor' in recent years.

However, not many may have expected them to stage such an elaborate tribute to the late musician.

On Saturday, thousands of fans gathered in the streets of New Orleans for a David Bowie memorial parade organised by Arcade Fire's Win Butler and Regine Chassagne, who live in the city.

Butler had posted a picture to Instagram on Friday, urging people to gather at the city's historic Presentation Hall at 4pm to "say goodbye properly."

 

People travelled from all over to attend, including - amazingly - Larry David, who was spotted in the crowd wearing a NASA jumpsuit:
