While we were distinctly underwhelmed by their recent Croke Park show, the Red Hot Chili Peppers still have it in them to make impressive records. 'Brendan's Death Song' is one such case, a mature rock song that's a world away from their more uninspiring moments. Perhaps they were inspired by the subject matter, the passing of long time champion Brendan Mullen, the promoter who gave the band their first ever gig in 1983.
