Tupac Amaru Shakur is among seven recording artists in line to get their very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.
Among the other new additions announced this past weekend are Katy Perry, Motown act Holland Dozier Holland, ELO's Jeff Lynne, Latin rockers Mana, Ray Parker Jr of 'Ghostbusters' theme fame and 80's rock icon Rick Springfield.
The announcement of the new stars on the walkway was made after a ceremony to celebrate Jennifer Lopez's dedication, the 2,500th star since the idea was hatched in 1958. The Walk of Fame stretches across 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and is one California's most popular tourist destinations, having attracted over 10 million visitors in the last ten years.
Tupac Shakur was gunned down in a still unsolved crime on September 7th 1996 in Las Vegas and died several days later on September 13th.
