Tom Odell has been named Songwriter of the Year at the 2014 Ivor Novello Awards. The 23-year-old singer-songwriter, whose 2013 release 'Long Way Down' topped the UK chart in July, received the award at a ceremony held at Grosvenor House, London last night.
Elsewhere at the awards ceremony, which is judged by a panel of music industry professionals, London Grammar and James Blake were big winners. London Grammar's song 'Strong' won the gong for Best Song Musically and Lyrically at the 59th iteration of the prestigious awards. James Blake's outstanding song 'Retrograde' saw him add the Best Contemporary Song honour to add to the Mercury Prize he won earlier in the year.
You'll have your chance to see Tom Odell live and loud when he supports Paul Weller at the grounds of the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham on June 24th. Tickets for the show are priced at €44.50 (including booking fee) and are on sale now.
