Tina Turner's management have strenuously denied reports that the singer has suffered a stroke, contradicting reports to the contrary out of Germany and the Netherlands suggesting the opposite.
German website Express ran an interview with Albert B. Cologne (sounds like a made-up name to us, but we digress...) who claims to be Turner's "singer and driver" who claimed that the 74-year-old had suffered a mild stroke but was now "well on the road to recovery".
"Tina had to cancel her holiday to recover", Cologne was quoted as saying. "She has already managed a smile for her partner Erwin Bach". Perhaps tellingly, the website has now removed any mention of this interview.
This isn't the first rumours of Turner's alleged ill-health this year, as last February Oprah Winfrey was forced to deny that her friend was in poor health. Winfrey tweeted: "Tina had a bad flu weeks ago. She's recovered. And LIVING life!"
Oprah's sentiments were echoed by Tina Turner's representatives, who addressed the rumours by saying: "The fact is that Tina enjoys excellent health", going on to say that Turner has never even met this mysterious Albert. B Cologne character.
Turner currently lives in Switzerland with her husband German music executive Erwin Bach.
