Last year, These New Puritans put together a mammoth live show to play their second album 'Hidden' in its entirety. It featured a 14 piece brass and woodwind orchestra, a children's choir, two pianos and a host of other gizmos and gadgets, including foley artists creating the sounds of skulls being crushed by smashing melons and crackers. I s**t you not. Intrigued by the promise of such a gig, and indeed still enthralled by the genius of the album itself, I travelled especially to London in October to see the show and, despite the fact that the walls of the Barbican Theatre were perhaps a little too prone to resonance for the album's big bass sounds and enormous Japanese Taiko drums, it was well worth the trip.

Now, the band have released a video from the encore of their Berlin Hidden Live show, which sees the band rework the track 'En Papier' from their debut album 'Beat Pyramid' after the orchestra perform instrumental track 'Irreversible'. They are also offering a free download of the track 'Hologram' from the same show as a free download via their website https://www.thesenewpuritans.com/

There's just one last chance to catch this show at the SOS festival in Murcia, Spain, on May 6th and 7th, but fingers crossed there'll be a live album and DVD on the way...
