A video was shared online last night (Monday) claiming to have a list of the Grammy winners at this year's awards. The video has since been taken down.
According to Entertainment Weekly, a mysterious list of Grammy winners surfaced online claiming to come from the Recording Academy’s website. The list, uploaded to Twitter, included the winners of Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
Record of the Year was allegedly won by Cardi B for 'I Like It;' while Lady Gaga's 'Shallow' won best song. However, the list has since been debunked as fake.
A spokesperson for the Recording Academy has said "There is no legitimacy" to the video. They continued, "Grammy Awards results are not shared, even with Recording Academy staff members, until the day of the Grammy Awards ceremony, when names of the recipients are delivered by Deloitte in sealed envelopes."
In terms of nominations at this year's awards, Kendrick Lamar is leading the pack with eight on the night. Drake has seven, including Album of the Year; while Lady Gaga, Cardi B, and Childish Gambino all have five. All of these artists will be competing against each-other for the coveted Record of the Year; Bruno Mars' '24K Magic' took home the prize in 2018.
It looks like we'll just have to wait like everyone else, and see the real winners unfold at the 61st Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, 10th February.
