Last month it was revealed that former New Order bassist Peter Hook was suing his one-time bandmates for 'many millions of pounds'.
Hook split from the band acrimoniously in 2007, and alleges that he is owed £2.3 million from royalties, that the band set up a new company without him to handle their income, and that they have 'pillaged' the New Order name - but his former bandmates say that the new company deals with earnings from the period after Hook left the band.
Now, guitarist Phil Cunningham has spoken out on the matter, telling Loaded: "It saddened me a few years ago, but he’s said such horrible things about Bernard and the rest of the band that it just makes me angry now."
He added: "Peter phoned me a couple of years ago because I said something in an interview that offended him. He said: ‘Look, it’s all getting a bit personal, this. It’s ridiculous. I’ve got my thing, you’ve got yours, and it’s cool. Everyone’s happy.’ But that’s obviously not the case. He’s not happy. He decided to leave the house, and now he’s outside it, chucking bricks through the window."
New Order released their latest album 'Music Complete' earlier this year, and Hook has been touring with his new band 'Peter Hook and the Light', who play Irish dates next March/April.
