Poor Madge. She's not having the best luck with the promo campaign for her new album, is she? Songs leaking months early, various other controversies and now possibly the most embarrassing stage mishap of her career.
If you haven't already heard, she took a bit of a tumble last night when she failed to undo her cape in time, causing her to be yanked backwards down a short set of steps. It wasn't far, but it's probably more than her ego that's bruised this morning.
Of course, injury is no laughing matter and all credit to her for ploughing on with the performance - what a pro. And she's grand, as she took to Instagram to reassure fans that all was OK, saying "Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I'm fine! #livingforlove"
Is that 'hooked you up' or 'stitched you up', Madge?
I’m no expert on the use of capes in high-pressure, live-television events, but surely velcro and not buttons? #BRITs2015 #Madonna

If ever I'm having a bad day or feeling like I'm not doing a good job, I'll just say 'I least I didn't reef Madge down 3 steps on live TV'

Understandably, there was a lot of concern for the fate of the dancer responsible for the mess, too.

No matter how bad the fear is this morning, imagine how that dancer of Madonna feels

Genuinely worried for the safety of that poor dancer. My guess is 'Madonna, in the dressing room, with the stiletto.' #Cluedo #MadgeDown

"I used to be a dancer." "Yeah?" "I was with Madonna for a while." "Really?" "Yup. So,is that a happy meal to go?" "Yes."
